Hello. I am a graduate of VIYETT (Victoria Institute of Yoga education and Teacher Training) with an Advanced Diploma. I teach Hatha Yoga and Relaxation/Meditation in Prahran, Hampton and Armadale.

Meditation

More and more, I am drawn to assisting people with their journey on the meditation pathway. I was fortunate enough to be kept on at VIYETT, the academy where I did my training, firstly to teach yoga classes and then, additionally, to guide student-teachers through their meditation studies. This is work for which I have a deep sense of love and belonging.

After so often hearing people say they find it difficult to meditate, "I can't keep still for long enough", "my mind wanders all over the place", "I can't relax enough to meditate", I developed a course for Relaxation and Meditation for beginners. There are certain techniques which an aspirant must perfect before being able to meditate effectively; the students and I could not be more happy with their progress.


CLASSES for Relaxation and Meditation
Relaxation and Meditation classes are run in Hampton and Armadale. Classes as opposed to the course lessons, are self-contained; i.e attendees may join at any time. Some of the many benefits of regular practice include:

* breathing more efficiently for mind and body
* relaxing deep down into a state of peace
* experiencing and understanding meditation
* sleeping better and awakening refreshed
* thinking more clearly and effectively
* enjoying life with renewed calmness

COURSES for Relaxation and Meditation
Relaxation and Meditation courses run at the Hampton Yoga Centre, and will soon run in Prahran (TBA). The course consists of eight weekly one hour lessons, each providing a buiding block for the following week. By the end of the eighth week, the participant is equipped with the tools necessary to meditate deeply and the techniques to:

* develop a sense of inner calm
* invoke instant relaxation
* overcome insomnia
* decrease anxiety
* manage stress
* optimise health
* improve relationships
* develop focus and concentration
* pave the way towards deeper meditation

Each lesson begins with one of several breath techniques for relaxation and energy as well as to induce optimal respiratory health.

Quality notes are provided for each lesson.

Hatha Yoga

I am available for private lessons, particularly for people with special needs. My regular classes (listed below) are suitable for beginners and those at intermediate level. Variations are given for those who prefer a more challenging yoga session.
One of my 'students' turned 80 in 2011 - to let you know that age is no barrier.

All my yoga classes begin with a breathing technique finish with a Guided Visualisation for deep relaxation.

*You don't have to be fexible to do yoga -- practise yoga and become flexible*
